India has asked Pakistan to investigate the evidence given to it on the Mumbai terror attacks and extend legal assistance so that the perpetrators could be brought to justice, Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon told reporters in New Delhi on Monday.The conspiracy behind the Mumbai terror attack was hatched in Pakistan and hence India has requested Pakistan to fulfill its commitments, informed Menon.
The luncheon at his residence was attended by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Ahluwalia, Chairman of PM's Economic Advisory Council C Rangarajan, former RBI Governor Bimal Jalan, Foreign Secretary Shiv Shanker Menon and officials of the Prime Minister's Office.
Foreign Secretary Shiv Shanker Menon told a gathering at a conclave on India-Bangladesh relations that he saw 'positive trends' in Dhaka-New Delhi relations and expected it to become stronger in days to come.
The Post report noted that US officials are saying that 'India has made unrealistic demands, such as retaining the right to test nuclear weapons.'
